A Certificate of Destruction is issued after the completion of each job. It is a legal
document certifying that everything handed over to Confidential Shredding has been
destroyed in a shredder, in a confidential manner.
Destroying redundant records helps your business meet its obligations under the
Privacy Act. The Act suggests that personal and confidential information should
only be destroyed by secure means. Garbage disposal and recycling intact documents are
not considered secure. Documents should be shredded, pulped, or disintegrated.
Professional destruction also keeps documents away from a competitor, a disgruntled
employee, or anyone with malicious intent, and away from the financial and reputational
damage that follows.
